US Grade 1 Spelling Words

Short daily sessions of 10–15 minutes work best for Grade 1 learners. Say each word aloud, let your child hear it, then ask them to write or type it without looking. Hearing the word before spelling it (rather than copying from a list) builds much stronger memory. Work through one group of words at a time rather than the full 100 in one sitting.
